We’re proud to have recently worked with The Nigel Prosser Foundation, one of the UK’s fastest growing SEN charities. They’ve been featured on various TV shows and news programs, helping to raise awareness and support SEN families across the UK.

Our goal? To transform their existing website into a vibrant, information-rich hub. Somewhere, people could find support, learn more about the charity, and feel part of something special. A place filled with free blogs, resources, and ways to get involved.

Kick-Off Call

It all started with a kick-off call. We sat down with The Nigel Prosser Foundation to chat through their goals, needs, and preferences. This conversation helped us understand exactly what they were looking for and made sure we were heading in the right direction from day one.

Existing Website

The Nigel Prosser Foundation’s existing website consisted of 6 pages:

  • Home
  • About Us
  • Our Friends
  • Our Team
  • Our Impact
  • Get In Touch

Whilst the website did get some traffic thanks to their media presence, the website struggled to convert that interest into actions, such as donating. It also didn’t offer visits to interact with it or to harness SEO opportunities through blogs and resources to promote its growth or longevity.

Back then, the only way to donate was through their GoFundMe page. It wasn’t linked to their website and didn’t support monthly donations or the ability to thank supporters with appreciation gifts.

Our Proposal

We saw a lot of potential.

So, we proposed a plan to expand and redesign the site, using keyword research and internal tools to identify the areas with the most opportunity. Here’s what we suggested:

  • A Free Resource Section to help families who need it most
  • A Blog Area to raise awareness and support search engine growth
  • An SEN Events Section to promote their upcoming activities
  • A Volunteer Page so people could easily get involved
  • A News Section to highlight everything the charity is doing
  • A brand-new Donation Page with support for one-off and monthly donations
  • A Donor Area, where supporters could log in and access their appreciation gifts
  • Professional custom emails for each of their team.

Supporting the Charity’s Mission With AdSense

We also proposed that we added Google AdSense to the Free blogs and resources section. This served two purposes, to help the SEN charity generate more money, which they can then use for the greater good, and to incentivise people to donate, as donators unlocked an ad-free experience across their website as an appreciation.

Helping Shape Their Identity

On top of this we also noticed they didn’t really have any consistent branding in place, just a logo.

To help with this, we created a simple but flexible visual identity they could use across their website, social media, and printed materials. We also designed a few custom posters to help them promote events and share their message in the community.

Redesigning The Nigel Prosser Foundations Website

Michelle and the team loved the proposal. “It’s exactly what we’ve been looking for,” they told us.

With their green light, we moved quickly into the design phase. Our focus was on responsiveness, user-friendliness, and creating something bright, colourful, and welcoming, something that truly reflected the heart of the charity.

Accessibility was one of our top priorities. Given their audience, it was essential. We added an accessibility menu early on, making it easier for everyone to use the site.

Because we’d already done the keyword research, the homepage design came together fast. Within a couple of days of our kick-off call, we delivered the first full homepage mockup—and they loved it. We then rolled out a similar look and feel across the rest of the site, regularly checking in and asking for feedback to keep everything aligned with their vision.

In just one month, we created the design for a total of 20 pages.

Development

Once the designs were approved, we moved into development. We chose WordPress for its flexibility and ease of use. It gave Michelle and The Nigel Prosser Foundation team the power to update content, respond to comments, and view donation data (including Gift Aid eligibility) from the backend. From day one of development, Michelle had full access to the site. She could log in anytime and check on progress. We also sent regular update reports to keep everything transparent.

Throughout development, we prioritised user accessibility and functionality to ensure the website will be long lasting. We also conducted extensive user testing to ensure that it met various people’s needs and went through our 40+ point checklist on each page to ensure every page was perfect.

The Final Result

After just 2 months from start to finish, it was time to launch the website.

In the first week alone, we saw a 173.71% increase in unique visitors and a 96% satisfaction score from users. Donations also increased. As a bonus, we also had a dozen new clients reach out after seeing the work.

Most importantly, Michelle was thrilled:

I feel extremely lucky to have been introduced to Connor after our experience filming on Rich House Poor House, our website needed updating as it was just something myself and one of my trustee’s put together, we’re not professional website designers but we did our best. Having Connor build our website has been nothing short of amazing! the experience in building the website together has been incredible to see it grow every week to now, its full of the content we made and functions so much better than our original website. Connor was very informative throughout the whole experience, emailed us regularly with updates and kept us informed through the process. The website is perfect and its something I’m proud to show off to the world, thank you again Connor! We highly recommend your services and will 100% be continuing this working relationship going forward.

Ongoing Progress

We continue to work with Michelle and the foundation every week.

Each Wednesday, we upload new resources she provides. Every Sunday, we publish new blogs. We also review keyword gaps, suggest content ideas, and brainstorm ways to keep growing the site—and the charity’s reach.

The partnership is ongoing, and we’re proud to be part of their journey.
